Downey Osborne is partnering with a growing organisation to recruit a Trainee Accounts Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their finance career to join a supportive team, gain exposure to a broad range of accounting duties, and develop their skills through hands-on experience and ongoing training.

About You
Previous experience within an accounts or finance environment is desirable
Strong attention to detail with a willingness to learn
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems
Positive attitude with a proactive approach
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
About Your New Role
Always
Assist with preparation of accounts and financial reports
Process purchase and sales invoices accurately
Complete bank reconciliations and maintain financial records
Support month-end procedures including journals and reconciliations
Maintain accurate records and ensure financial information is up to date
Work closely with senior members of the finance team to develop technical knowledge
Often
Assist with credit control and supplier reconciliations
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Help prepare management information and financial reports
Investigate discrepancies and resolve queries
Gain exposure to different areas of the finance function
Occasionally
Support audit preparation and provide information as required
Assist with process improvements and system updates
Take on additional responsibilities as skills and experience develop
Support wider finance projects and business initiatives
Never
