Accounts Assistant - Belfast - £28,000 - £30,000
We’re supporting a long-standing organisation in Belfast as they recruit an Accounts Administrator to join their finance team. This is a stable, office-based role with a supportive environment and a full handover. This position suits someone confident with day-to-day finance work, bank recs, purchase ledger, and email-based credit control.

About You
We’re looking for someone who is detail-focused, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities within a busy finance function. The ideal candidate will have:
Experienced in SME finance
Confident with purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank recs, and credit control
Strong Excel and accounting software skills
Strong attention to detail
Your Responsibilities
Always:
Daily bank recs on main accounts
Process supplier invoices and post customer payments
Issue invoices, statements, and management accounts
Maintain customer and supplier records
Often:
Keep internal accounting records up to date, including setting up new accounts and updating account terms
Submit tax returns and related forms according to statutory deadlines
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts
Produce regular reports summarising the status of accounts payable and receivable
Occasionally:
Support VAT returns and statutory submissions
Assist with monthly reporting
Resolve account discrepancies
Never:
Be asked to do anything outside your remit… unless you offer
Have to replace a windscreen wiper on your bosses car
