A growing professional services firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified practice accountant who enjoys technical work, managing people, and working with a varied portfolio of clients.

You will join a collaborative team environment with exposure to a broad range of accounting work, while also supporting and mentoring colleagues within an international support team. About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / equivalent)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice

  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail

  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks would be beneficial

  • Previous leadership or team support experience would be advantageous

About Your Role

Always

  • Prepare and finalise year end accounts and corporation tax returns for a range of entities including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders

  • Deliver a high standard of service to clients and maintain strong relationships

  • Support and mentor junior staff and offshore team members

  • Ensure work is completed accurately and within deadlines

Often

  • Review bookkeeping, VAT returns and management accounts

  • Assist with workflow management and improving internal processes

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across different teams and locations

Occasionally

  • Assist with the implementation of new accounting systems and technology

  • Support wider practice initiatives and process improvements

  • Travel occasionally for internal collaboration or training

Never

  • Work in isolation without team support or collaboration

  • Claim the office biscuits were eaten by the spreadsheet formulas
