Downey Osborne are delighted to be partnering with a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Dublin City Centre to recruit an Audit Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced audit professional looking to take the next step in their career within a firm that is continuing to expand and invest in its people.

Working closely with the Partners and senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the audit function, oversee a varied client portfolio, and play a key role in developing both processes and people across the department.

About You

  • ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience working within audit in practice

  • Strong technical understanding of audit and accounting standards

  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring staff

  • Ability to manage client relationships professionally and effectively

  • Organised with strong attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in a growing and evolving environment

  • Strong IT skills including Excel

  • Experience with audit software packages advantageous

About Your New Role

Always

  • Manage the firm’s audit portfolio and compliance requirements

  • Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion

  • Review audit files ensuring high-quality and compliant work

  • Support and mentor members of the audit team

  • Work closely with clients to deliver timely year-end reporting

  • Prepare and review statutory accounts

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards

  • Act as a key point of contact for audit-related queries

  • Assist in improving efficiencies and audit procedures across the department

Often

  • Meet directly with clients to discuss accounts and audit findings

  • Support workflow planning and assignment scheduling

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen internal processes

  • Collaborate with senior management on departmental development

Occasionally

  • Assist with non-audit assignments when required

  • Support wider practice projects and operational initiatives

Never

  • Feel restricted in your progression opportunities

  • Complete any audits from the roof of your house
