Head of Finance - Belfast - Up to £80,000 (15198)

An exciting opportunity to join a growing and innovative organisation as Head of Finance. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead the finance function, provide strategic financial guidance, and ensure robust financial controls across the business. A fixed-term contract will also be considered for the right candidate.

About You

You are a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong technical expertise and a hands-on approach. You are comfortable balancing day-to-day finance management with strategic input, while leading and developing a team.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture

  • Experience in management and statutory reporting

  • Comfortable working with ERP systems and improving processes

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Your Responsibilities

Always:

  • Produce accurate and timely management accounts, including KPIs and commentary

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes

  • Manage audit and statutory reporting requirements

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory requirements

  • Lead and develop the finance team

  • Maintain strong financial controls and processes

Often:

  • Support senior leadership with financial insight and analysis

  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies across finance systems

  • Oversee transactional finance, payroll, and treasury activities

  • Develop and enhance financial policies and procedures

  • Partner with wider business functions to support decision-making

Occasionally:

  • Support business projects and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Engage with external stakeholders including auditors and advisors

  • Contribute to wider strategic planning

Never:

  • Compromise on accuracy, control, or compliance

  • Race your boss across the office car park just for fun
