Downey Osborne is partnering with a well-established chartered accountancy practice in Co. Meath to appoint a Part Qualified Accountant to join its growing team. With a strong and loyal client base built over more than 30 years, this firm offers excellent exposure across audit, accounts preparation, tax and advisory work within a supportive and collaborative environment.

This opportunity will suit an ambitious part qualified accountant looking to continue developing their technical skillset within a progressive practice environment.

About You

  • Part Qualified ACA, ACCA

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice environment

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with good attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines

  • Audit exposure beneficial but not essential

About Your New Role

Always

  • Prepare and review annual financial statements for a varied client portfolio

  • Assist with management accounts, reconciliations and year-end processes

  • Prepare company and personal tax returns along with statutory filings

  • Liaise directly with clients and support ongoing accounting requirements

Often

  • Support year-end audits and completion of audit-related assignments

  • Assist senior team members on advisory and special client projects

  • Work across a broad range of industries and client types

  • Prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports

Occasionally

  • Assist with process improvements and internal practice projects

  • Support clients with accounting software and bookkeeping queries

  • Contribute to ad hoc assignments across the wider practice team

Never

  • Be expected to wrestle a badger out of a client’s warehouse during month-end reporting deadlines

  • Be expected to explain deferred tax calculations to an angry goose
