Downey Osborne are working with a leading professional services business in Belfast to appoint an In-House Accountant / Company Accountant. This is a broad, hands-on finance role offering real variety and the opportunity to take ownership across day-to-day finance, reporting and commercial support within a fast-paced environment.

About You
You will be a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in a broad finance role.
Strong management accounting and reporting experience
Good understanding of core finance processes and controls
Commercial mindset with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
Strong communication and stakeholder skills
About Your New Role
Always
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting
Maintain accurate ledgers and strong financial controls
Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
Partner with stakeholders across the business
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal processes
Often
Provide commercial insight to support decision-making
Analyse performance and highlight key financial trends
Support payroll, invoicing and revenue processes
Assist with audit preparation and year-end reporting
Occasionally
Contribute to process improvements and system developments
Support ad hoc financial projects
Assist with pricing and profitability analysis
Never
Leave reconciliations “for later” and hope they resolve themselves
Never replies “per my last email” without at least a hint of regret
