Client Accounting Manager - Remote - €65,000 - €85,000 (36414)

Downey Osborne is delighted to be partnering with an independent accountancy practice to recruit a Client Accounting Manager.

This fully remote role offers the opportunity to manage a portfolio of Republic of Ireland clients while supporting the continued growth of the firm's presence across the Irish market. The successful candidate will play a key role in client delivery, business development support and the future development of the Ireland-based team.

About You

You will be a qualified accountant with strong practice experience and a passion for delivering excellent client service.

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • ACA, ACCA or CPA Ireland qualification

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within an accountancy practice environment

  • Strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation, taxation, VAT and payroll

  • Experience managing a portfolio of SME clients

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills

  • Commercial awareness with the ability to provide practical business advice

  • Experience using Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and ROS

  • Experience with Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) would be advantageous

  • Leadership skills with an interest in developing and mentoring others

About Your New Role

Always

  • Managing a portfolio of Irish-based clients

  • Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements under Irish GAAP

  • Overseeing corporation tax and income tax compliance

  • Advising clients on accounting, taxation and commercial matters

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships

  • Supporting the continued growth of the firm's Irish client base

Often

  • Reviewing VAT returns and advising on VAT matters

  • Supporting payroll compliance, including PAYE, PRSI and USC requirements

  • Assisting with cross-border accounting and taxation matters

  • Supporting business development initiatives and new client onboarding

  • Mentoring and developing junior team members

  • Contributing to the growth and leadership of the Ireland-based team

Occasionally

  • Advising on Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) matters

  • Supporting special projects and advisory assignments

  • Participating in networking and relationship-building activities

Never

  • A purely compliance-focused workload

  • Explaining debits and credits to your dog (although they may be good listeners).
