About You

  • Part-qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or qualified by experience with relevant experience in a similar role

  • Strong IT skills, with confidence working across accounting software and Excel

  • Good analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and interpret financial data effectively

  • Clear communication skills, capable of presenting financial information to both finance and non finance colleagues

  • Ability to work well in a busy environment with changing priorities

Your Responsibilities

Always:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines

  • Support the completion of year end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors as required

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately

  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts, highlighting variances for review

Often:

  • Produce financial reports for management, outlining key trends and performance indicators

  • Support analysis of margins, cash flow, and cost performance to aid commercial decision making

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes within the finance function

  • Work with other departments to ensure financial information supports operational objectives

  • Assist operational teams with the financial aspects of projects and cost control initiatives

Occasionally:

  • Support upgrades or improvements to financial systems and reporting tools

  • Act as a point of contact for external stakeholders, including auditors and banking partners

  • Contribute to business planning and longer term financial forecasting

  • Assist with financial input for growth plans, expansions, or new initiatives

Never:

  • Never compromise on accuracy, attention to detail is key in all financial reporting

  • Never attempt to make friends with the office photocopier, it has trust issues.
