We’re representing a well-established client in the manufacturing sector who is seeking a skilled Management Accountant on a 6 month fixed-term contract to support the finance team.

About You
A recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or part-qualified with at least 3 years’ relevant experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance role in a business with turnover above £20m
Strong knowledge of finance principles, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and project/investment analysis
Excellent analytical, Excel and IT skills, with experience of financial software (Sage desirable)
Experience supervising or mentoring staff and coordinating team responsibilities
Strong communication, planning, and commercial awareness
Experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable)
Your Responsibilities
Always:
Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly and year-end management accounts, quarterly reporting packs, and budgets/forecasts
Take responsibility for selected Balance Sheet reconciliations and ledger maintenance (AR/AP)
Provide analysis and insights on variances, trends, raw material inventory, costs, and financial performance
Support audits and ensure timely, accurate financial submissions
Supervise and coordinate finance team duties, ensuring adherence to company policies, systems, and procedures
Assist with preparation and review of the Annual Business Plan, investment appraisals, and post-implementation project reviews
Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure correct depreciation and reporting
Often:
Work closely with manufacturing, materials, sales, and other departments to provide financial insight, produce forecasts, and monitor profitability
Analyse cost models including raw materials, production costs, overheads, and pricing performance
Assist with AP and AR processes and take sole responsibility where required
Participate in 5S, Continuous Improvement Programmes, and information-sharing initiatives
Occasionally:
Support ad hoc projects, reporting, or system implementations
Liaise with external auditors or other regulatory bodies
Never:
