Downey Osborne is working with a well-established professional services firm to recruit an Accounts Administrator. About You
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload
Confident communicator, both written and verbal
Comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels
Good working knowledge of Excel
Understanding of core accounting principles
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Team player who can collaborate effectively
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
About Your New Role
Always
Process accounting records including purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash book and nominal ledger
Prepare and maintain accurate bank reconciliations
Support the preparation and maintenance of client accounts
Ensure all work is completed accurately and to a high standard
Deliver a high level of service to clients
Often
Arrange bank payments, transfers and process client receipts
Liaise with third parties including banks and insurance providers
Support the Outsourcing team with day-to-day accounting tasks
Assist in meeting client and statutory deadlines
Occasionally
Provide administrative support across the wider team
Assist with ad hoc finance and reporting tasks
Never
Work in isolation without support from the wider team
Never be judged on your biscuit selection during meetings
