We’re recruiting an Accounts Technician to join a busy and growing finance team within a well established, service led business. This opportunity is ideal for someone with hands on accounting experience who enjoys variety and is ready to take on responsibility across several areas of finance. About You

  • IATI or AAT qualified, or actively working towards your qualification

  • Experience in an Accounts Technician or similar finance role

  • Highly accurate with strong attention to detail

  • Confident using accounting systems and comfortable handling data

  • Proficient in Excel and general IT applications

  • Organised and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Strong communicator with a proactive, collaborative approach

About Your New Role

Always

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes across the finance team

  • Prepare accounts to trial balance stage with precision

  • Maintain the general ledger, including posting journals, accruals, and prepayments

  • Process supplier and sales invoices and assist with payment runs

  • Reconcile bank and control accounts accurately

  • Keep financial records and documentation up to date and in line with best practice

Often

  • Assist with VAT returns and support audit preparations

  • Prepare financial reports and contribute to data analysis tasks

  • Respond promptly to internal and external finance queries

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to resolve finance-related issues

  • Support improvements across finance processes and systems

Occasionally

  • Manage commission queries and reporting tasks

  • Assist with ad hoc finance projects as the business expands

  • Participate in system upgrades or finance-led initiatives

Never

  • Feel isolated from the wider business, teamwork is central to the culture

  • Be expected to buy everyone in the office lunch
